Questions moms ask about the Momcozy M5 Smart
How much does the Momcozy M5 Smart Wearable Breast Pump cost with insurance?
With insurance, the Momcozy M5 Smart Wearable Breast Pump costs $0 to $120, depending on your plan. Many plans cover it in full; others add an upgrade fee. Check your coverage and we’ll tell you your exact cost before you order.
How strong is the Momcozy M5 Smart suction?
Up to 285 mmHg across 9 levels, Momcozy says. Stimulation runs 75 to 145 mmHg, Expression 120 to 285 and Mixed 75 to 285. That is 15 mmHg stronger than the Spectra S1 and S2, which are rated at 270 mmHg.
How do I put together the Momcozy M5 Smart?
Momcozy lists five steps, starting with clean, dry parts. 1. Press the 21 mm insert (or a 17 or 19 mm insert) into the 24 mm flange. 2. Push the diaphragm flat against the back of the flange. 3. Snap the duckbill valve into the diaphragm so it sits firm, not dangling. 4. Press the milk collector onto the flange and twist to seal, lining up the marks on the cup and motor. 5. Click the motor on top until the four clips lock. A damp diaphragm is the top cause of weak suction, so dry every part first.
What are the Momcozy M5 Smart parts, and where do I get replacements?
Each pump has 4 washable parts: the flange, diaphragm, duckbill valve and milk collector, with a flange insert seated in the flange. Momcozy says to replace the silicone parts every 1 to 3 months, or sooner if one tears or goes limp. Momcozy sells M5 Smart replacement parts from $6.99, and M5 and M5 Smart parts fit both pumps. Not sure what you need? Call or message us.
Do I need the app to use the Momcozy M5 Smart?
No. The buttons and display on each pump run everything. The app adds phone control, separate settings for each side and a pumping log.
How is the Momcozy M5 Smart different from the original M5?
The M5 Smart is an upgraded M5 with app control and a longer battery, Momcozy says, and the original M5 has no app. M5 and M5 Smart accessories fit both pumps.
How long does the Momcozy M5 Smart battery last, and how long does it take to charge?
About 6 sessions, or 180 minutes, per charge, Momcozy says. A full charge takes about 2 hours over USB-C. Momcozy says to use a 5V/1A adapter, not a fast charger, and the pump will not run while it charges.
How do I clean the Momcozy M5 Smart?
Hand wash: Momcozy says it is not dishwasher safe. Rinse the parts, soak them 3 to 5 minutes in warm soapy water (104 to 140°F) with a brush kept for pump parts, then air dry. Boil them 5 to 10 minutes to sanitize; they are heat safe to 212°F. Wipe the motor with a damp cloth and never submerge it.
How loud is the Momcozy M5 Smart?
Under 48 dB, according to Momcozy’s site. Amazon lists 50 dB, so expect a quiet hum rather than silence.
Is the Momcozy M5 Smart hospital grade?
No. Momcozy says the M5 Smart is not hospital grade, and calls it a strong wearable for everyday pumping. If you pump exclusively to build supply, Momcozy suggests pairing a wearable with a stronger pump.
Can I pump lying down with the Momcozy M5 Smart?
Lean back a little in a chair if you like, but Momcozy says to avoid lying flat. Tilting too far can send milk toward the motor or out the spout. Empty the cup around 4 oz if you are moving around.
Does insurance cover the Momcozy M5 Smart?
Yes, most health plans must cover a breast pump under federal rules. We check your plan, get the prescription from your doctor, and ship the pump to your door. Start your order through insurance and we will tell you before anything ships if your plan covers a different pump.
Momcozy M5 Smart or Momcozy W1?
The M5 Smart weighs about 8 oz (230 g) per pump, runs up to 285 mmHg and includes a carry case. The W1 weighs about 11.3 oz (320 g), runs up to 295 mmHg, and adds warmth and massage. See the Momcozy W1 if slow let-down is your problem.
