Virtual Breastfeeding Support
Virtual Breastfeeding Support
Lora SteffieAs a former hospital RN, having worked in the NICU, Labor & Delivery and Postpartum, I knew I wanted more influence over my patients’ care and, thus, became a dual certified Women’s Health and Family Nurse Practitioner. With over 20 years of nursing experience, many of those spent assisting with lactation journeys, I have worked with a myriad of new and growing families. In 2015, I helped launch one of only a few Nationally Certified Breastfeeding Centers near my hometown in the Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania. Since the onset of the COVID19 pandemic, I have realized just how difficult obtaining lactation care and education are for many families who do not want to leave the comfort of their own home, thus the birth of lactation telehealth.

Virtual Breastfeeding Support
LaChelle ReeceHaving been a Registered Nurse for 25 years, my career began in Labor and Delivery. It was when I experience my own breastfeeding challenges that I became motivated to pursue the path of becoming the support for others that meant so much to me. In my 20 years as a lactation consultant, I have had the privilege of working with thousands of breastfeeding families in various settings. I understand that support and guidance can play such a vital role in assisting families in their breastfeeding journeys.

Having attended Cedar Crest College in Allentown, PA for my Bachelor of Science with a major in Nursing degree and Drexel University for Masters in Nursing with my Women’s Health/Gender Related Nurse Practitioner, I learned to evaluate the science and apply my research to patient care. Wanting to be able to care for the babies, led me to a Post Masters’ Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Recently, I enrolled in Pennsylvania State University’s Doctoral of Nursing Practice Program, where I am completing some research on lactation care.
I am also the mother of three wonderful children, all who had different breastfeeding journeys. They taught me the patience I offer each of my patients during a non-rushed, evidence-based, compassionate consultation. I enjoy teaching, and perhaps those children taught me that also. I look forward to being your chosen provider for lactation care and education.

In 1997, I graduated from Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, GA with my Bachelor of Science in Nursing. My initial role included working as a Labor and Delivery Nurse until 2003 when I obtained my International Lactation Certification. I have 20 years of experience working as a lactation consultant in Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, NICU and outpatient settings. I also have extensive experience in facilitating postpartum support groups as well as teaching breastfeeding classes to both families and hospital staff.
I am a mother of two fun-loving children who helped guide me to pursue my career in lactation because of each of their different breastfeeding challenges. I can truly appreciate the patience and commitment needed for breastfeeding and look forward to supporting each of you in navigating your own unique journey.
I believe that parents should have evidenced- based and practical support in establishing and achieving their breastfeeding goals. My passion is to provide kind, non-judgmental and empowering care to assist you in meeting your own breastfeeding goals. I feel that working with new families is a privilege and I am honored to be a part of this special time in your life.
