I love reading about the size of my baby and just in general different things that were happening to my body during this amazing time. Let’s get back to the pregnancy due date calculator – How accurate are they really? Of course, you must have your information right – like the first date of your last menstrual cycle.
According to BabyCenter, an online media company, only one in twenty women deliver on their due dates. To begin with, it is important to understand that a pregnancy calculator at best offers an approximation of your delivery date based on your date of conception, but they are still super fun & helpful.
The weeks of pregnancy are dated from the first day of your last period. This means that in the first two weeks, you would still not have conceived. The body would just be preparing to ovulate which means, releasing an egg from your ovaries.
Long story short – it is a more complicated calculation than you think – but they are a super helpful tool to get an approximate date. Then – it’s planning time! That is a different blog post all together!
